Trade Merchandiser – WORK LEVEL 1

1. JOB DETAILS

2. ROLE PURPOSE
The Trade Merchandiser is responsible for driving the success of effective marketing, advertising, and promotional activities of the Beauty Category for Robinsons Department Store. The position holder will assist in designing unique plans for individual products, and overseeing and analyzing new product launches. The position holder will work with the Buying Manager to advise on appropriate promotional procedures established from customer data analysis and current trends. The ideal profile will advise retail the Robinsons on methods for in-store solutions and consistently monitor if these methods are effective.

You’ll be an integral part of the planning and execution of in-store promotions, events and merchandising projects in order to help achieve the goals and objectives of the department.

4. KEY ROLE SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Project Management

  • Ensure execution of trade marketing calendar for Beauty category and plans (track and manage timelines, new item set up forms, sampling GWPS, new product launches, promotional activities, content, podiums, sites, etc).
  • Cultivate programs that ensure products sell in-store
  • Partner with Floor, Department Managers and VM on all display and template needs for new product launches including managing design, budget, timelines and allocation.
  • Issue and update Creative & Merchandising, Marketing programs in project management tool and align with Buying Manager
  • Keep Beauty category calendars updated on daily/weekly basis and share with marketing/sales/Buying team on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate the development of new marketing materials for brands to support sales teams.

In-store / Event Support

  • Work with the sales & marketing team to support in-store initiatives & events; ensure materials are developed, shipped, executed.
  • Develop communication tools and presentations to share promotional programs with management, sales team and wider business
  • Assist in coordination and execution of activations and events for department stores and
  • Assist the Manager on the creation of Event and animation for POS
  • Ensure execution, quality of finishing of in-store and mall visibility.

Sampling & GWP

  • Coordinate and execute sampling and GWP (manage inventory allocation by brand & program, prepare sampling forms, track all programs and changes, work on PO’s and shipping details & timing.)
  • Responsible for early Press and Retailer samples, providing gifts in return with coverage, campaigns or Store promotions
  • Manage assortments and facilitate orders for monthly GWP/samples and gifting program used for customer recruitment in stores.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the key liaison between marketing operations and Beauty Buying
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships for future purchases
  • Collaborate and communicate with sales on updates and changes in strategy
  • Follow up on deliverables with various sales team as needed
  • Support Manager in elaboration of key documents (Launch strategy decks, Forecasting decks, Launch reports…)
  • Liaise with merchandising teams to track key deadlines for POG updates.
  • Support the Buying manager meeting with suppliers, distributors and analysts
  • Suppliers review/ meeting  to develop relationships and put in place long-term category plans.

Category Analytics

  • Send regular updates on cosmetics industry news, launches, innovations, and trends to Sales team
  • Support the Buying Manager in other various ad hoc analytic projects, Podium, Animations and Brand analysis
  • Competitive Landscape – Monitor competitors in Dept Stores field and provide a monthly overview of GWP, launches and best in class approach
  • Prepare and implement new product launch and conduct pre and post evaluation
  • Store visits to review competitor activity

5. WORK LEVEL 1 POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Job Holder needs to establish a routine in the stores to ensure focus on different aspects of operation constant communication flow between stores as well as continuity of the plans in all stores, and ensure all department managers are trained in relevant procedures

 

 

6. PERSON SPECIFIC:
Education: University Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Buying or a related field is required
